Daily Science FactHead lice derive nutrient by blood-feeding once or more often each day, and cannot survive for more than a day or so at room temperature without ready access to a person's blood.
Lice are quite host specific; human lice, for instance, will not feed upon other animals, and lice of other animals would rarely feed upon a person.

Daily Science FactOften
a pet rabbit can be "hypnotized" by cradling him on his back in your arms or across your lap, tipping the head backwards until he's "out." It's helpful to do this when cleaning a bunny's sensitive areas, like the face. feet, or under the tail. If the hind feet seem to be vibrating, touching them will stop it. Most rabbits do not like having the tips of their noses or chins touched. Their feet also tend to be ticklish.

Daily Science FactAccording to
Musgrave Pencil Co. Inc, more than 14 billion
pencils are produced in the world every year, enough to circle the earth 62 times. This pile of pencils includes a wide variety of styles and widths. If you've ever have taken a fill-in-the-bubble test, you're probably aware that pencils vary in darkness. The number printed on the side of the pencil indicates hardness and darkness of the graphite core: the higher the number, the harder the graphite core. Because a hard core leaves behind less of the graphite-clay mixture on the paper, it will have a fainter mark than a softer core.
